Meditation is the Key: Real peace comes from within

May 22, 2022 | Mental Health

Meditation is our being. But it is a common belief that only when everything around us is just as we want it to be, then we accomplish peace, only then will we be at ease. We place a role in external things as if these were the engine that sets our life in motion. But today I want to show you how true peace comes from within.

We all have the power to reach inner peace, without depending on external factors. It is true that sometimes we might experience small moments of peace when we accomplish something in our lives, maybe an improvement at work, buying a new house, or getting a raise. But these brief moments of peace are just that, brief.

Discover your innate ability to reach an inner peace that doesn’t require anything big or fancy, it only requires you to dedicate a few minutes to yourself every day by practising some meditation.

How? Keep reading to find out.

Meditation shows you how peace comes from within

You may be wondering what does meditation have to do with reaching inner peace. Meditation has proven to be one of the most effective ways to accomplish relaxation, focus, and peace of mind.

Nowadays, we live in a world where we are constantly exposed to thousands of stimuli, our brains process a lot of information every hour of every day. It is no wonder that we may feel anxious, unsettled, or have a hard time staying at ease.

Here is where meditation comes in. This practice allows you to quiet all this noise that’s happening inside your head, a noise that sometimes causes anxiety, stress, or a sense of lack of control.

Do you ever feel like your mind wanders? Like you can’t control what goes on in your head? You might even have experienced unsettling thoughts to the point where you don’t even know how you got there. You may have asked yourself, why am I thinking this?

That’s 100% normal.

It is what the mind does. But not to worry, when you start meditating, you’ll learn how to just watch these thoughts, good or bad, come and go.

The power of meditation is precisely this, it gives you the power to reach a corner of your mind where YOU sit at the forefront and not your thoughts.

Meditation will allow you to watch your thoughts as if you were a spectator at a theatre, just observing and not judging. Once you reach this state, you will experience greater inner peace, as you will no longer let your thoughts control you, how you feel, or what they say about you as a person.

You will have reached that point where your true peace comes from within.

“The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness. But if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions.”

How do you start meditating?

The act of meditating is simple and hard at the same time. It is simple in the sense that you only need to find a nice and relaxing place at home or somewhere of your choice, sit back, and relax. This is the easy part, anyone can do this.

The hard part perhaps has to do with the fact that many people today are not used to doing precisely that: to just be.

I mentioned earlier how our current society and the way we live today forces us to stay active at all times, we don’t allow ourselves to take a moment and breathe.

For some people it is hard at the beginning of meditation because they become aware of how frantic their minds are, they might even think, “how am I going to quiet down the millions of things going through my mind right now?”

Again, completely normal.

The key to starting any mediation is to find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably, maybe starting only five minutes a day, and start observing yourself with your eyes closed.

How do you do this?

First, you start breathing consciously, just being aware of every breath and every exhalation. You place your focus on the air coming in, and on the air coming out.

Now, you’ll see how your mind starts wandering again. That’s ok, it doesn’t mean you are doing it wrong, you are just getting started at this. Gently bring the attention back to the breath.

Then, with your eyes closed, start observing your body, how it feels, and if there are any areas of discomfort or any comfortable ones.

Then, take in any sounds or scents you might notice, and place your focus on them as they come and go. Then, bring the attention back to your breath and if at any point the mind wanders off again, remember to just bring your attention back.

And like this, little by little, you will be meditating and creating a way to tap into your inner peace. You’ll see how your mind, once before busy with millions of thoughts, will no longer control how you feel.

You will be in control.

And this is the point where you’ll realize how your true peace comes from within, you’ll need nothing else to release this newly found freedom.

I am happy to support you on your way out of entanglement. Please keep in mind: this is not a sprint, but a process that usually requires time, patience, and inner commitment. Powerlessness or feeling stuck often develop over many years – any real change deserves the space to grow at its own pace, layer by layer.

Especially when it comes to deeper issues, old trauma patterns, or family dynamics, entering this journey requires genuine commitment. Individual sessions can offer valuable impulses, but sustainable, meaningful change asks for the willingness to engage with your process and to look at what arises, again and again.

If you can imagine taking this path for yourself, I will gladly support you with all my experience and with a professional as well as personal perspective on what can help you move from powerlessness to connection and a sense of agency.

The process always begins with an initial counseling session. This is more than just an introductory meeting: together, we take the time for a thorough assessment, to discuss your concerns and your story, and to find concrete initial impulses you can work with right away. After the session, you’ll receive a detailed written summary. This way, you gain real value and a sense of direction for next steps right from the start.

Transparency is important to me: The process starts with a first session, which is always substantial, there are no hidden costs or vague appointments. We take this step consciously. Afterwards, you have the space to decide in peace if and how you would like to continue.

You can book your first session here.

I look forward to supporting you.
