Do you ever wonder what you want from life? Maybe you do, and that’s completely fine. And maybe even you know the answer to that. But you may be wondering how do you get there as well. That is the key. Today I’ll talk about how important it is that you find your focus in order to achieve whatever life goals you have set for yourself.

How do you find your focus in today’s noisy world?

I get it, it is harder than ever. We live in a world where the possibilities are endless, we live surrounded but constant stimulation, so to sit down and come up with the answer to what we want can be a struggle.

We could blame it on the outside things happening to us, the noise, technology, our colleagues, etc. But what if the answer lies in ourselves? How can WE find focus with our own resources?

As Leonardo DaVinci himself put it, “take some distance”, he said: “Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.”

So this might one key that could help find your focus on your everyday life or work. Take some distance and take a breath. It will all look different when you resume it.

The next thing would be to define what is it that you want. Define exactly what is your desired goal, this way you will have a clearer view of how easy or difficult it is to get there, which will help you establish the necessary steps and resources to get there.

So ask yourself, do you know your focus in life? Your intention?

Another element that proves to return great success is establishing a specific plan of action. Once you introduce goal-setting and action-taking, the process will yield a lot more successful results.

Maybe you come out of a challenging and triggering background, which you can treat and work on. But without a specific plan where goals and actions are defined, the road to your personal success will be that much harder.

What made you lose focus in the first place?

Understanding how you came to the state where you want to gain your focus in life back is very important. Analyze what events or situations in your life made you lose your focus in the first place.

Maybe it is an unfulfilling job, maybe bad career choices, whatever it may be, identify it first, as this will help you not make the same mistakes again. Learn from your past actions and don’t see them as a failure. Look at them as a tool that will allow you now to drive in the right direction.

Wherever your focus goes, so does your energy.

Life is full of distractions, and it’s easy to lose focus. You might have been overwhelmed by too many responsibilities, or perhaps you were dealing with personal issues that consumed your attention. Maybe you were in a toxic relationship, or you were stuck in a job that didn’t fulfill you. These situations can cloud your mind and make you lose sight of your goals.

It’s crucial to identify these factors and understand how they affected your focus. Spend some time reflecting on your past, and try to pinpoint the moments where you veered off your path. Was there a specific event that triggered this change? Did you gradually lose focus over time? Understanding the root cause of your loss of focus is the first step towards regaining it.

Remember, losing focus is not a sign of failure. It’s a part of the human experience. We all face challenges and distractions that can lead us astray. The important thing is to learn from these experiences and use them to grow. Every experience, good or bad, is a lesson that can help you become a better version of yourself.

Once you’ve identified what caused you to lose focus, you can start making changes. If an unfulfilling job was the problem, maybe it’s time to start looking for a new one. If toxic relationships were draining your energy, it might be time to reassess those relationships and set boundaries.

Remember, your energy follows your focus. If you’re constantly thinking about the things that bring you down, you’ll find yourself stuck in a cycle of negativity. But if you shift your focus towards your goals and the things that make you happy, you’ll find that your energy will follow, propelling you forward towards your dreams.

So take some time to reflect on your past, understand what led you to lose focus, and use that knowledge to guide your future actions. You have the power to regain your focus and steer your life.

Know your why. Find your focus through purpose

Do you want a different job? Maybe move to another country? Your reasons are all possible and 100% valid. But ask yourself, why do you want that specific change in your life? Maybe it is money, happiness, or maybe even doing it for others.

Having a clear view of what you want and why you want it is the key to placing you on the right path to get there. You will be pouring your energy into that accomplishment, so you might as well have a clear reason why you are investing yourself in that. Knowing your exact why will allow you to take risks and push forward, no matter the obstacles you find along the way.

This article is a clear example of how important it is to find our why.

Why your Why is important

Understanding your ‘why’ is like having a compass that guides you through the journey of life. It’s the driving force that fuels your determination, keeps you motivated during tough times, and gives you a sense of purpose. It’s the reason behind your actions and decisions.

If your ‘why’ is to find a job that brings you joy, then your focus should be on identifying what kind of work makes you happy, what skills you need to acquire, and what steps you need to take to land that job. If your ‘why’ is to move to another country, you need to understand what draws you to that place. Is it the culture, the opportunities, or the lifestyle? Once you know your ‘why’, you can start planning and preparing for your move.

Knowing your ‘why’ also helps you stay resilient in the face of challenges. When you encounter obstacles, it’s easy to feel discouraged and lose sight of your goals. But if you have a strong ‘why’, you can remind yourself of the reasons you started this journey in the first place, which can give you the strength to overcome any hurdles.

Your ‘why’ should also align with your values and beliefs. If you’re pursuing something for the wrong reasons, it might not bring you the satisfaction or happiness you’re seeking. For instance, if you’re pursuing a high-paying job solely for the money but it doesn’t align with your passions or values, you might end up feeling unfulfilled.

In conclusion, knowing your ‘why’ is crucial in finding your focus and achieving your goals. It’s the foundation upon which you build your plans, your dreams, and your future. So take the time to reflect on your ‘why’, understand it, and let it guide you towards your purpose.
